DEAR...
Interaction Design & App
Dear... is an app to help broaden ones awareness, knowledge and critique of race/ethnicity when they walk through the ethnic halls of The Museum of Natural History. The app encourages people to begin to analyse and explore the conventional portrayals or beliefs portrayed in ethnic displays and use self-reflection to contemplate questions towards race, culture and ethnicity that we often don’t lean into.
Through prompts and questions the App urges its users to dig deeper into the collection they have seen and investigate the role that race plays in their lives and shapes their identity. Starting with self reflection people start to consider the racial prejudice’s and hierarchies that exist and are taught in museums.
